Neenah likes to pretend it’s all paper mills and quiet streets, but the downtown counter is stacked with everything from a Bloody Mary that could double as a meal to a banker’s vault now pouring a bomb pop shandy. You can chase a seafood chimichanga with a habanero mango margarita, then wander into a bakery where the bread samples are basically a trap.

The range here swings from old-bank architecture with a spot-on hefeweizen to a catering outfit whose short ribs made guests forget the wedding cake. Zuppas runs that level of serious, while Broken Tree’s crust has a chew you’ll think about for days.

Something’s always baking, frying, or fermenting. Start at the top and let your belt keep score.
